A lonely teen named Harrison Loyd can't control his powers without a special key that can turn them off temporarily. Due to these power he has a hard time making friends and is often bullied, except for the caretaker Freya who looks out for Harrison. He is in a home for troubled youth where kids are afraid of him, making him feel even more alone. 

He then meets a new boy in the home, Iris Bloom. Who is similar in a sense. They have the similar powers. But Iris can control them, with and without the key. Throughout the story Iris teaches Harrison to control his powers without the key,  maybe he will finally feel love after being alone for years. 

Come along on this trip of heartbreak, selflessness and selfishness, and of course joy. Maybe? We'll see.
