Everything was taken from me. My family, my home, and the ability to settle down and live the life I once longed for. But now... I know no such fantasy would come true. I found my self running from death at the age of seventeen, but I wouldn't dare complain not even to this day. I did not run because of fear or panic not even for love that was denied....I ran for survival along with my queen. This is a story of our battles together, of our fight for balance between the supernatural, and of our fight for humanity. This is a story about a little girl who was taught to hide all emotions, to never under any circumstances show fear, and was told since she was born that she would die and the outside world was evil along with everyone in it except for the ones in her home that got burned to ashes. Its also a story about a boy that was scared of loosing his humanity, who could strike fear into the hearts of his enemies with a single glance, and was one of the soul keys to ending a ageless war. This is the story about the Queen and her Knight.

Outsider

This story is for my little brother. He was the best man I ever knew, and he died too young. No, he didn't leave this life the way I tell it in this story (it is, after all, a work of fiction), but he might have had things played out a little differently than they did. Childhood sexual abuse is alive and well in America and the larger world as well. Rodney and I lived it, and that basic fact served as the seed that made this story possible. Much of what you are about to read is true. Just as much is pure fiction. You'll get that (in spades) as the book progresses. The idea of another, better life waiting "out there" somewhere is a constant of most religions, but this is not a book about any religion or, really, the afterlife. It is a story about escape and hope.
