Lostclan, Meadowclan, Shallowclan, and Willowclan all thrive in the forest, usually minding their own business. But...Disagreements and suspicion arise, and the clans all don't trust each other. 

It is just the start of New-Leaf, and the clans have been on each other's nerves with crossing the borders and even bickering about who stole prey or not. As the warm air heightens, so does everyone's defenses. If peace doesn't come after The Gathering in a few moons, the clans will have no choice but to engage in war after a tragedy is started. Many cats turn their back on Starclan, thinking the hostilities from each clan was a sign of Starclan giving up on them.
