She survived the end. But it's only the beginning. Ever escaped Earth before life, as she knows it, was wiped from the planet. She lost everything: her parents and sister. Forced to leave behind her best friend, and the two boys she loves; their fate is unknown. She's headed to a new planet, where her brother, whom she thought was dead, waits patiently for her arrival. But this new world is not what it seems and her sister's final words weigh heavily at the forefront of her mind: "your friends may be your foes and your foes may be your only chance for survival." She doesn't know who to trust, including herself. Memory reimaging has scrambled her brain, making it difficult to decipher fact from fiction. To make matters worse, as a genetically modified human and the sole woman with the ability to procreate, Ever finds herself in a unique and terrifying position. The evil corporation, Environettix wants to exploit her, and she's not the only one they are after. The other Mods from Earth have been brought to the new planet, but not for the reasons they believe. Things are spiraling out of control. Environettix is getting desperate and desperation makes people do unimaginable things. As Ever navigates her way through a labyrinth of lies, she discovers one truth to be absolute: They shouldn't be here. This planet does not belong to them, and things that don't belong, have a way of being...extinguished. *This is Book 2 in The Dissonance Series

In the high-stakes world of the theater, stage fright can seriously crank your career, so apprentice Minx Mellor hides her phobia, studying as a technomancer to create fantastic, steam-powered devices. But when the mysterious serial killer known as The Peacock targets one of their own, Minx can hide no longer. To save the life of the woman she loves like a mother, she teams up with her sworn enemy and a dashing young director whose powerful magic wakes the nightmares she's kept secret for years. When disaster strikes, Minx must face the horrors of her past and find the courage to do what she vowed she'd never do again. Even if it means risking her life as bait to trap a murderer. From the shadows of cobblestoned alleys and the glittering steampunk world of an aristocracy gone mad for theater comes the first book in a young adult fantasy series about love, the power of creativity, and the resiliency of the human spirit. ******** This is the first novel in the ALCHEMY EMPIRE series. "Three weeks. That's how long I got to have drama-free. I'm not sure what is happening to me or to Oakwood. Nothing's the same since I rolled into town and it just keeps getting weirder. Suspicious agents in suits roam the streets without an explanation. They're staring straight at me. The new Chemistry teacher is NOT who he says he is. I'm doing things I never thought I could. Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Riley's life is yet again in jeopardy, but this time she's not alone. Luc and his family are all thrown into the teetering balance. More secrets are uncovered. A trap dawns on them all. Invisible threats start crawling from all directions. Who is the real enemy? TW : behaviours of depression and PTSD are displayed. I don't name them, but one of the character will be struggling a lot. It may not be suitable for everybody. Other adult matters are briefly included, but nothing explicit or intense. Rewriting specifications : the main points of the story and end of the book will remain the same, am just going to change a few ways of getting there and adding some extra spice. Feel free to pause the read until the REWRITING sign disappears.

||Book 2, please read Dauntless Initiate, before reading this one. This book picks up exactly where the other one left off for Tempest|| ||I own nothing except for Tempest, all of her plotlines, and some very minor characters that won't appear very often.|| ||Set in The Son by Veronica Roth, and takes place two years or so, before the book Divergent begins.|| ||There will be some potentially triggering topics, such as underaged drinking, swearing, mentions of physical and mental abuse. You have been warned|| Tempest has officially made it into Dauntless and has left her old life, old identity, and former faction of Abnegation behind her. She has made a friend or two among the Dauntless and although she still definitely prefers to always be able to walk alone at the best of times it is clear that she has begun to slowly open up. Even if it ended up being to one of the people that used to be one of the members of the faction, that she was raised to hate, with every bone in her body. When she gets visited in her quiet apartment by Max, one of the five Dauntless leaders, she gets an offer that she was shocked to hear. Because even if she had been ranked first... who would have ever thought, that the willowy, clearly under-fed girl from Abnegation, could ever become a candidate for any faction leadership position? Let alone the faction that was mainly only just formed to protect the city around them, from any and all threats? ||Follows the events of 'The Son' by Veronica Roth and my own plotlines entirely after that. Tempest is my main character.|| ||Dauntless Series|| |Book 1: Dauntless Initiate| |Book 2: Dauntless Member| |Book 3: Dauntless Leader|

[COMPLETED] •Being revised... AGAIN (Progress: Intro-Chap. 3)• "We're going back... Understand? There are more threats out here than we anticipated, and they're all after you-" Lukas' voice erupted into static and chunks... I glared at the man in all black as the light continued to beam and blind me. Without my glasses it was actually painful. And then there was silence. My bare feet hit the metal floor of wherever we had jumped to, and I put my hand up to shield my eyes from the vicious attack of bright light. Not again." Alexi Callidus is living in a post-apocalyptic world... In the 25th Century. The year is 2470. She's been surviving on her own for 4 years and 8 months inside the same building with her only companion without seeing the sun. 5 years after the brutal unexplained murder of her family. 7 years after the genetic disaster of "GASP". 7 years and 4 months after the War of Nations. Everything seems to be barren and empty... But if her super old sci-fi movies didn't teach her that looks deceive, nothing will. Technology, before "GASP" (Genetically Altered Soldiers Program) and the War of Nations, was insane. You could be teleported in the blink of an eye, or healed from a once fatal injury in days. With the majority of the population infected with a viral genetic plague, almost any of the survivors could access this technology... Including Alexi. When a simple quest for survival turns into a journey of a lifetime, will Alexi be able to survive the weight of the gruesome truth when she finally uncovers it?
