When Freddie strolled into the cinema that cold dreary night, he didn't know then the impact he would have on Alex. When a connection forms, it has Freddie confused yet terrified to reveal a part of him that he has buried deep down in a locked box in his mind. Sparks fly between the two and Alex wears his heart on his sleeve hoping this could be the relationship he's craved since he was outed three years ago. Freddie wasn't ready to reveal to anyone this part of him but he knew the feelings he had for Alex wouldn't just go away so they continue on exploring their connection secretly. Can they make it through the lies and gossip and finally be out to the world or will Freddie's fear destroy his own happiness?

*He swallows hard, jaw tightening. His eyes meet mine and the fire crackles as the heat of our stare mingles in the air. The burning heat in our stare, that can't be faked, right? I don't think, I just reach out, my hand finding his cheek on instinct, a silent offering of comfort. But he pulls back like I burnt him and looks away.

"Alex-" he starts.

Oh fuck. I've read this all wrong, I'm just embarrassing myself again.

"I get it," I cut in. "I'm so stupid. You've made it clear before we're only friends. I was so fucking stupid to think it could be anything more. I'm really sorry. I'm just gonna go." My chest aches.

I stand, not wanting to face anyone, I unsteadily head for the side exit, but his hand wraps around my wrist, stopping me.

His touch has goosebumps raising on my skin, sparking a fire in me.

"No." His voice is firm. He pulls me to the side of the house, out of sight, and turns me toward him. I brace myself for a beating but his gaze softens, piercing through my defenses. There's something raw and intense in his eyes.

And then, his eyes flick to my lips.
