The Virus spread like a wildfire. Consuming everything and everyone in its path. Leaving behind undead creatures to feast on human life. But humans were smart. They ran. They hid. They survived. Learning as much as they could about this virus.

I should've died that day... I can't remember how long I was out. But it was long enough for things to go from bad to worse...
A hierarchy was born and the virus mutated creating monsters out of us.
A mindless zombie I was... But soon things began to change... And the fog lifted. No longer was I mindlessly wandering the planet like the vile creature I was. And slowly... Changes started within zombie society. Others... Others like me have become sane. Coherent. Able to think alongside humanity.
We soon learned you can't stop being what you truly are... Even if it's a monster.

Eventually, a powerful corporation called the Revert Corporation takes the blame for the outbreak. A "cure" emerges, but only after waves of death and suffering. Some survivors who receive the cure undergo a strange transformation - gaining new powers, or becoming something beyond mere human. The tone is dark, raw and urgent. Humanity used to thrive in 2035 until a group of scientists started playing God. This science team was recruited by all the top world leaders and they've begun receiving demands for a super soldier, and they began experimenting on animals, which gave the scientists expected results, but like all experiments, there was a chance for failure. The humanoid animals, or Anthros for short, started getting smarter, faster than the scientists expected, or reacted. The Anthros broke free and took what was left of the 'White Mist,' the substance that created them, and put it into the planet's air supply. Long story short, most animals worldwide have begun transforming into Anthros, and started devastating the world's militaries before attacking cities. Humanity is now facing extinction with their last millions while the Anthro civilization is over 2 Billion strong and counting. The war between Humans and Anthros has lasted for over 50 years, and while humans may be disadvantaged against the Anthros higher strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence, they still beat Anthros with improvisation, adaptability, and tactics. The war has destroyed all four Eastern continents, leaving behind a creature both Humans and Anthros call Reapers, who are husks of the person they were. The Anthros have near complete control over North America and are fighting Humanity in South America, but the main human bases are located on the Hawaiian islands. With death seeming inevitable for human kind, can nothing stop humanity from extinction? Zero has just graduated from high school with good marks and a scholarship. His family wanted to celebrate, so they said they would wait for him. He went back to grab his wallet, and as he turned around, he started falling in a wormhole, closing afterwards. What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along.
