Hye-Myung grew up loving to read, write poetry and stories, sew, and observe political decisions and discussions, sometimes having a few opinions herself. But as she was cursed of being a woman within the Goryeo Dynasty Hye-Myung kept her mouth shut and her opinions to herself. As she was the daughter of a high-ranking official favored by the King Hye-Myung and her siblings were even allowed into the palace allowing them to meet the princes and princesses. There Hye-Myung met her future marriage partner, young Wang Yoo. Years later knowing she was soon to be married too Hye-Myung did her best to rebel against her parents soon and dressing as a male to gain more freedom. Her father, Myo-Chun, in fear of his youngest daughter being caught and possibly killed arranged with the King of Goryeo for her to marry her childhood friend, the disposed Prince of Goryeo, Wang Yoo. Wang Yoo was for the idea as Hye-Myung was a bit weary but decided to accept as this kept her safe if she were to ever be caught cross-dressing as a male and allowed her more freedom since both participants of the engagement didn't possess feelings for the other. Relishing the new freedom this engagement gave her Hye-Myung often went out more dresses as both a man and a woman. She spent more time with her betrothed as he began searching for a person with an alias called the "Jackal" but little did these two know was that their meeting with the Jackal changes their fates for good. Because unknownst to Hye-Myung, both her mother and father visited a shaman who told the parents she had the destiny of royalty, and with that royalty came the destiny to love a man who was hard to love.
