I have always thought that life happened as a result of our conscious actions...

But what if that was never the case?

What if our fate had already been set from the very beginning? Every event, every relationship, every test score to job and even financial status was already predetermined?

And we don't recognise we are powerless to change our fate?

This story is set in the year 2300, the millennium where humanity finally figured out the final missing puzzle piece in the truth about what we know as life...

We were all in a simulation.

The aliens came here for one thing, and one thing only.... Females. ( This story is only available through inkitt or galatea!!!) (some read events may apply) (check update chapter for more details!) Humans believed they were the only intelligent life to exist... that it was impossible for another species to evolve in a way where they could prevail in something as great as space travel. humans believed they were supposed to be the most technologically advanced species and the alpha predators... They were wrong. The Xandisians evolved in ways humans never could have imagined, they are natural-born killers with phenomenal strength and agility. Their kind never went through the same devolution as humans, they never lost their natural instincts to hunt, kill, or breed. With their limitless potential and monstrous strength, they faced few threats and could survive almost any threat that befall their species, almost. After an incurable sickness washes over the planet of xanadis, the majority of the female, young and elderly, and vulnerable population is all but wiped out, leaving a small portion of the male population to face the threat of extinction. With no choice but to look to the stars for a means to save their kind from complete annihilation, the xandisians set out to find a race compatible with their own. after many years and countless failed expeditions, they finally find a species that matches their base DNA on a planet called Earth. The only issue now is how humans will react. (Book 2 LTF series) (CAN be read as a stand alone, but not recommended for nostalgia reasons~) (ps this is UNEDITED, grammar and spelling mistakes will ensue!) (NOTE: THIS IS ITS OWN STORY NOT A CONTINUATION. SAME CHARACTERS BUT DIFFERENT PLOT.)(Last to fall au/spin-off)

Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.

Neither intends for the arrangement to be permanent or to fall for the other. What if we were the first in our part of the galaxy to discover the secret of faster than light travel? What if this discovery was 10,000 years before it was supposed to be? Our neighbors had been watching for centuries and were surprised with our early arrival into the Web of Worlds... The Year is 2166: To the people of Earth, the universe seemed to be a very lonely place. Astronomers have discovered tens of thousands of planets; many had indications of organic life. SETI had been searching for signals for over 200 years. There had been a few tantalizing bits of radio or radar energy received but nothing ever proven to be of intelligent origin. But there was an alien civilization out there, in fact many of them linked together in a Web of Worlds. They were watching us quietly, carefully and patiently. It had long been the prime directive of the Web that no developing civilization be contacted until that civilization made it into interstellar space on their own; and that always took time, lots of time. Most Web worlds took 1,000 years or more to go from steam to the atom and none had made it from the atom to a sublight stardrive in less than 5,000 standard years. Every civilization of The Web had proven that faster than light travel was impossible, so there was plenty of time to watch the Earth... The watchers were astounded with the speed of progress of human science and also horrified at the periods of violence. By 2076 nuclear fusion power was widespread on earth. By 2100 the first interplanetary fusion ships explored the Sol system. The men and women of the Anglosphere Alliance began their first missions in ships approaching 0.1c. At that velocity, manned flight to even the nearest stars would take a lifetime. What would happen if a beautiful engineer and a brilliant physicist stumbled upon an artificial gravity field which would make a faster than light drive possible... On July 27, 2032, the world ended-not in fire, nor in war, but in silence. A rift tore open above Earth, swallowing the sky itself. In the blink of an eye, everything humanity knew-its past, its future, its place in the universe-was rewritten. The Shift shattered continents, erased millions, and hurled Earth into an uncharted galaxy. Now, years later, the dust has settled, but the wounds remain. Nations struggle to rebuild, tensions simmer beneath fragile alliances, and whispers of something far greater-far darker-stir beyond the stars. Amidst it all, one man searches for purpose in a world that no longer makes sense. What he finds will shake the foundations of everything humanity believes. Because The Shift was never an accident. It was a message. And someone-something-is coming. credit for cover: [Pinterest:https://pin.it/5wa8sAySO]
