But they seem like it.

In 3072, the world is not safe. Many humans spiral downward into depression, becoming a Monster - a pleasure-seeking Vamp, a too-skinny Skel, a stoner Zombie, a grieving Ghost, an angry Demon, a hippie Were, or a pickpocket Siren.

Maddie is 24, and has had her fair share of Monster encounters. Like mostly everyone else, she tries to keep her distance.

But then she meets Isabella.

Isabella's mission?

To save the Monsters from themselves.

But when Maddie gets sucked up into Isabella's good-intentioned plan, the government gets involved.

And Maddie learns who the real monsters are.
