Arranged

Being forced into a relationship can be hard, no matter what the circumstances are. Especially when it’s by people who think they’re doing the best for you, and you are convinced they’re wrong.

“Mom, I just can’t do it. I can’t even fathom marrying him. You know how I feel about him, you know what I’ve told you about him!” I yelled at my mother. I couldn’t contain my anger about the recent announcement of my arranged marriage.
“Honey, I’m sorry, but we told you about the deal we made early in your life, and you said you didn’t care at the time, you didn’t want to know who it was.” My mom tried comforting me, but it was no use.
“Ugh!” I yelled out in frustration. “I need some air.” I mumbled as I got up and stomped out my front door, just like a two year old. Which was kind of shameful.
