Amber is starts off the book as a 5th grader who has a lot in her life from losing all of her friends, having to move schools the next year, and her brother graduating from there Catholic school to go to public high school. Amber and her brother Shane are very close and can talk about anything. While Shane is in his freshman year in public school he meets a boy named Jason. Jason and Shane acme best friends and Amber starts to realize that she's losing her brother and will do anything to keep him. After a little while she's has all the boys looking at her and she accepts Jason. But Shane and jason can't handle the boys she with especially Tyler.
