A Hogwarts Romance

"He doesn't like me, Dee. He's a jerk, and...and..." I trailed off, lost in thought, knowing full well that Curtis wasn't really a jerk. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about him. The way he always tries to tame his curly chocolate-coloured cowlick to no avail. The way it falls into his sparkling emerald eyes. The way his hands fumble when he's nervous. The way he bites his bottom lip when he's concentrating. The way his cheeks burn and his hand rubs the back of his neck when he's embarrassed.

"You're thinking about him right now, aren't you? All the stupid mushy little things you love about him." I opened my mouth, ready to protest, but Dee raised her hand. "Oh, but you're right, Hadley. He's such a jerk. And he doesn't like you." She sarcastically remarked, rolling her eyes.
