I actually extended it out to connect to some known and/or speculated scenes/moments in season 3 and you will notice that towards the end. The story starts out really fluffy, pure, and innocent, but as the story goes on and they grow older, their relationship matures and so do they. Problems start to arise, growing pains start to become more prevalent, but it's nothing they can't fix and overcome together, so don't fret. Even when things get tough, hope is unwavering! I step away from the counter and turn my back on him, desperate to leave. But he speaks again. "Date me. Two months. If you fall for me for my money, I win. If I fall for you for who you really are, you win." I consider this for a moment. I have nothing to loose and really not much to gain. But I'm so desperate to put the asshole in his place that I can't resist. I'm a sucker for a bet. "Deal."

Third time's the charm, isn't that how the phrase goes? Or, rather, is it three strikes, you're out? For Dipper Gleeful, it tends to fall onto the latter.
