However, this is a story of Maya Gilbert. Her cousin.

After Maya's parents pass, due to a house fire, Maya is forced to move in with her only "living" relatives. Little did she know, the second she arrived, she had a Target on her back.

A sequence of unfortunate events lead the Mystic gang to an unsettling resolution. They must leave their old lives behind, and relocate so that they can have a chance at a halfway normal life.

However, when they made the move they didn't realize that Beacon Hills gives Mystic Falls a run for their money in the department of supernatural population.
