Taking place in the south during the 1970's is the unfolding of 20 years of letters written to a child the main character, Wynne, could never have. The letters were written while she usually drank a glass of deep red wine, giving her courage to tell her story of transforming from a girl and growing into truly a woman of this world. She's shaped by a traumatic and well known circumstance so many woman are forced into around the world, one evening inside the car of her fiancé, which forever changes her outlook on life. From there on out, she's determined to break social norms of what is expected for her life during a historic era of feminism. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, she shares her unknown stories of courage fighting for equality amongst men, adventures of traveling, and above all else, finding love.
