Ember Black was taken away from the only life she knew safe in her little bubble of the world she once knew. She is being forced to train every day and do hard labor which then leads her to be one of the chosen 50 from all of the other kids that were taken.  She then learns that everything she had been taught or had once believed in was a lie. She and the rest of the 50 are being sent away to train and try to defend earth against the collective, a galactic war. Ember will constantly have betrayal, heartbreak, and passion thrown at her along the way, will she be able to make the important decision that will influence the future of a whole planet.
