Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary. John and his unit, SITH-B, must survive what was to be a new colony on a new alien planet. Meridion. When he looks at himself in the mirror, he asks himself, What makes a man a man? Is it his ability to survive? Is it his family? His wealth? A man is everything. A man gives up the things he loves for the common good of others when it needs be. A man is a man because he has survived this planet when all else fails. He earned his mantle to survive when he colonized Meridion. Beyond all light of his home world. Man climbed the Universe and they can do it again. There once was man that dreamed of being a hero. Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey.
