Captain of the football team, Constant Dufour, was someone who seemed like he had the perfect life. He excelled in school and had the opportunity to become valedictorian in the near future. You'd never happen to catch a frown on his face as he always seemed super joyous and happy. Ignoring all those high-school clichés, he was actually one of the nicest guys around in that school, which seemed to annoy the hell out of Noah Payne.

Noah Payne was someone who preferred being around a small group of friends and typically was the one to keep most of his personal life to himself. While he wasn't particularly shy and could go up to just about anyone and say hello to them with no issue, he just didn't like the idea of being surrounded by so many people. He's not what people would call a typical "nerd," as he didn't act like it at all. He never played any video games, he didn't wear any glasses, and didn't really... look like he'd belong in that clique. However, he was smart. He was the one who was in the top of all his classes until Constant came around.

That alone would've made him hate the kid, if only he wasn't always so nice to him.

Now worry not - this story won't be your typical jock x nerd story. It's way more than that.
