Second chances are a hard thing to come by, especially for society's cast-offs. New Haven is a place full of them, cast-offs and second chances.

Esme Lihua didn't honestly think she'd get a second chance. She wasn't hung up on it though, she'd go back and do everything again, any time. She'd never been one to shy away from a puzzle though, and the girl with the ocean blue eyes and over sized hoodies is definitely that.

Darya Haddix isn't looking for a second chance. She doesn't deserve one. But getting sent to New Haven threw a wrench in those plans, and the scary girl with a dark past and fiery eyes doesn't help at all.

Well meaning adults, a chicken named Macbeth, a nosy car thief, and a dysfunctional found family make New Haven a perfect place to find hope, friends, and maybe even a little romance.

{Fair warning, there will be swearing and some  darker things, like mentions of murder, rape, suicide attempts, and self harm/self destructive behavior. Also the title and cover likely could change.}

The two tried to dampen the flames of their burgeoning attraction for each other but not before they got caught and were the talk of the town for months. After the fall out, Maddie moved away to try and start her life over and not be known as the girl who got caught doing it with her 'brother' at prom. She hasn't seen her family in ages and intends to keep things that way. Jacob, on the other hand, has worked hard to accomplish everything he's ever dreamed of. He's stayed close to home, done exceptionally well at school, and is adored by just about everyone who meets him. There's only one problem: There's a Maddie-shaped hole where his heart used to be. It does have around 40 chapters so it might not seem like it. But trust me that it is.] ||Full Disclosure|| I started the book in the end of 8th grade so it needs MAJOR editing. It also does have Sexual Chapters, as well as people of the same sex being together, murder, brutally torture talk of rape and sexual harassment. So if you do not wish to read things like that then this unfortunately isn't the book for you. ||You Have Been Warned|| First book in the Heart series. •Do Not Copy This Book In Anyway•

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?
