The Gods have studied the world for decades attempting to understand it. They have always failed. Despite their efforts humanity has a way of moving on its own for better or worse. The one constant is the secret world harbored away from mortal eyes.
Even that world is changing. Things have begun that were once forgotten. Young heroes have aged into adult hood and the mantle must be picked up by incoming victims. Children. Unknowingly wandering into a fate they can't run from.
Forces have amassed protecting a temple. Inside is something valuable beyond description to both God and mankind. It is an essence of raw power meant to be left alone. It beats with the heart of the earth, and should it fall into the wrong hands the consequences would be catastrophic. Unfortunately, most everything remains a mystery-even to heroes old and new.
