{Book 1} The year is 2150. Water is gone. Almost. A crippling drought managed to cause mass destruction to the world with the exception of five countries. Five corrupt countries that survived using tricks that the devil himself created. Deceit. Lying. Stealing. With the last stores of water, these countries should have flourished. However, dishonesty still poisoned the soil of these last places of refuge and havoc reigned. Away from the slow demise of the outside world, two sisters seemed to be awaiting death- dying more each day. The only thing that kept them alive was the lake which they had been entrusted with, hidden from the prying eyes of the government. But what will happen if the whereabouts of this lake is know to those that hold more sin in them than hell itself? What will happen to the two innocent sisters? There was no place for their purity in a world where the only thing pure was the water. And even that had an aftertaste of poison.Complete

"Careful human." The...thing said in a concerned voice. "W-What are you, what d-do you want?" I shakily asked him, curling up my body protecting myself. "Shh human don't be afraid. You are my mate." What is a mate? Why did he bring me here? Who is he? Why is he looking at me like that? From the distance I put between us I could admire him more, and his tail. He really is beautiful. It was a deep teal green colour with gold and blue blended in with it that reminded me of his eyes. He was holding himself up with his arms looking at me curiously, head slightly bent to the side and all. "What are you, what do you want?" I asked slowly, my heartbeat had almost reduced to normal again but I was feeling a strange pull towards the creature in front of me. "I am a Merman and you are my mate." His voice was deep and sounded like music the way he spoke. But mate? "Mate?" I asked hoping to find out the way in which he directed this word. "My love," he paused looking into my hazel eyes. "Come closer human you are beautiful...and mine."Complete

Avani looked at the pizza store in front of her. Many passed by her, giving her glares and weird looks but Avani didn't care. All she could think about was food. And how her own step-mother disowned her. And the nurse's horrified face. And how warm her toes would be if she had just one match. Sighing, she walked to her corner around the garbage dump of a random store and laid down. But then, a shiny object dropped from the sky, and that was the answer to her question. But she had a weakness. And that weakness will bring her down, it'll destroy her inside and out.
