The Final Stand Part 1: Ludwig's Reign

No one would have ever expected the new king's reign to take the path it would in the future, but I can say this: the regime of the oldest, most arrogant and articulate of Bowser's children is certainly far from peaceful. Here is the story of how it all began and how everything lead up to an event that would change the Koopa family and their known world forever.

So I started writing this when I was a sophomore in high school. As a concept, however, this has actually existed since 2010. I grew up in an abusive household and a very limited circle of toxic people were the center of my world. I constantly fought to break free from all of that but was stuck in arrested development whether I liked it or not. I feel like this story reflected my view on the world at the time. It was going to have a VERY unhappy ending. Well, that worldview has since changed. A lot. I also grew to prefer my original idea for the "taking" of the princess, so that was the basis for the reboot. There is A LOT about this story that will be taken out for the reasons mentioned above.

If you're curious about the reboot, that would be Super Mario Bros.: A Force to Be Reckoned With :) I know I'm grown and there was no reason for me to come back, but this is part of my healing journey. If you support me in this, thank you. If you don't, that's okay too.

(Hm... I'm still thinking about whether or not to re-release old chapters. I've set the rating to mature and I don't think that will change. I will probably edit some of the old chapters and post the new versions, but keep the old ones archived. Either way, I will be putting warnings where applicable. Upon re-reading, there's just been quite a few things about the old story I haven't felt comfortable reposting. I'm trying to figure out how not to let the OG readers down on this, bear with me!)
