Yet, amidst the darkness, there remains a flicker of light-a goodness that emanates from the depths of the characters' struggles. This tale is purely a work of fiction. It does not depict true biblical accounts, nor does it intend to reference real individuals or places. Any similarities are purely coincidental. I dedicate this book to my dear friend Khail Narisma, who passed away two years ago. One of the characters in this story bears his name, with his kind permission, as a tribute to his memory. Khail was a soul of exceptional grace and warmth-a lovely soul, a lovely angel.
