Update info: expect updates every weekend, at least one chapter a week.

Update info 2: unfortunately I've run into problems, I'm starting my Master's Degree and there's little time to think and sit down and write the story whole-heartedly. I have about four chapters started, but not one is beyond 50% done, all I have is the beginning and the idea of where it is going. If you are a new reader, I'm sorry... updates will be sporadic.

Mercenary Work Book #1 "My world and your's are complete opposites. Your's consists of men that follow the rules, do as their told, and stay within the boundaries of reality. Mine is quite different. Men kill for money, murder for fun and are loyal to no one. I am one of these men, you will most likely find me repulsive. Though I've heard that there are men in your world that are just like me. I find that hard to believe, I am much worse." The Court Of Mercenaries. They are all both men and women of any race. For the right price, they will do next to anything. Recognizable by the sheet metal hung around their necks. Each Mercenary holds a name and a necklace of their own design. Five out of the thousands of Mercenaries there are, hold a special stone with them, at all times. They are to make sure that the Mercenaries, stay Mercenaries. Rule one and the most important of five: Do not kill anyone not affiliated with the job at hand, "We are Mercenaries, not murderers". Jackson, a Mercenary, been one since he was very young. He is a man that has gained, and earned, respect, to the highest degree. If someone doesn't know who he is, they'll learn. Very, quickly. So will you. So first things first I love being vague so if you don't understand what I'm talking about or something it will probably be explained later so stay with me. Secondly first chapter is complete shite, I would change it but I'm lazy and it sets up my characters so I'm not just gonna delete it. So read the first chapter for the plot and please continue to the second if you still don't like my writing then you can leave, that's all I'm asking. So that's all I got to say so I'm gonna get on with it. Also I swear a fuck ton so if you don't like swearing get out.

[COMPLETED] As I was beginning to relax, a new terror coursed through my body at his next word, "Strip." "Ex-excuse me?" I blurted out. I wasn't getting undressed in front of him, I barely knew him. He must have been trying to gain something from me and I doubted my fear and embarrassment was what he wanted. Adrenous didn't say anything as he drew his hands up my back and halted at the laces of my dress. I felt him tug at one of the nots and I instantly pulled away and turned to face him, no longer caring that his manhood was out for all to see. Just like that part of him, he too was a dick. "I'm not getting undressed in front of you!" I yelled at him. "Your mine, Alivia," My name passed his lips easily and hearing him say it did things to me which I didn't want to admit. Instead I glared at him, he said I was his as if I was some kind of possession that he could do with as he pleased. He added, "Let me take care of you." I didn't know what he meant by that, all I knew was that I had no intention of doing as he had asked. ✨🌕✨ BOOK ONE OF THE KING SERIES ⚠️ WARNING: this book is mature and should only be read if you are 18+. When the tyrannical King of the rogue Court rises to power, chaos spreads across the land, and the only solution is a group of misfits who know no loyalty but to themselves. In a desperate gamble, the empire sends an unlikely team of prisoners to infiltrate the rogue Court and assassinate the King. Leading the group is Nightingale, a thief and exiled prince, haunted by his past, with only his fierce battlecat, Shadow, for company. Alongside him is Madam Macabre, a beautiful but deadly tiefling warlock who wields dark magic with grace and cruelty. There's Angus Mcloud, a brute of a barbarian, wielding strength that can shake mountains, and Rex, an 8-foot crocodile lizardfolk brawler with unyielding resilience. Azair, a dhampir magician, uses arcane trickery to manipulate and deceive, while Ellana, an elven huntress, was framed for crimes she did not commit. Finally, the enigmatic Hunter, a druid, brings primal fury to the group, transforming into a lion and possessing unmatched skills as a tracker and assassin. Bound by fate and circumstance, this ragtag band must put aside their differences to take down the King. As they plunge deeper into the dark heart of the rogue Court, each of them grapples with their inner demons, all while navigating dangerous politics, betrayals, and the growing realization that maybe, just maybe, there is more to them than being bad. But in the world of thieves, killers, and rogues, trust is a rare commodity, and loyalty is even scarcer. As they close in on their target, the question remains: will they complete the mission, or will they turn on each other before the job is done?

Since she could remember, she never believed her parents were really dead, and has been searching for them ever since she became part of the mercenary group.
