Riley Thorne has a normal life in California. Normal friends and family and grades. Her personality may be a little hyper and bubbly, but all-in-all, she's normal. She's okay with surviving high school with her friends, her brother, and her pathetic crush on Phoenix Andrews. She has been pining over Phoenix since freshman year, but is totally okay with just admiring from afar because she knows that she's too awkward and weird to actually have a boyfriend. Riley's life is pretty simple this way, pathetically stalking an improbable crush and that's how she's happily living her life until, of course, things get complicated. There's a new boy in town just as another one of her brothers best friends confess his feelings for her just as Phoenix begins to take notice of her. With all three things happening at once, it's overwhelming for Riley because she wasn't used to boys actually liking her back. Especially not Phoenix, or her brothers best friend, or the new guy.
