Lacey is the eldest daughter of a big family. In a desperate bid to escape her overbearing parents she got a job and apartment in the city. Vincent is the eldest vampire alive. The one from which all other vampires are spawnned. Others of his kind revere him, but he's world weary and eager to find an end to things. Too bad his minders won't let him walk out into the sun and end it all. They won't even let him leave the top floor of the apartment building he owns. "For his own protection," they say.
He's a prisoner to his past. She's desperate to escape hers. They both have chains. The only question now is whether or not they can break them without each other.
