Before World War 2 began, Acelin Adler had to deal with the constant abuse from his blood uncle, so much so that his body becomes impervious to pain. That is until he is rescued by Emily and her husband, at first Acelin doesn't know how react or feel until he meet's Rosemary. Emily's younger sister. Over time he begins to develop feelings for Rosemary but things changes when the war begins. Acelin decides to enlist believing that he could protect the ones he loves only to find how much has changed over time. As well as his relationship with Rosemary.
