Dr. Martin's Flowers

This is a short story I wrote for a school assignment this year. The characters and scenario are fictional, but the story was inspired by Alice Eastwood. She had discovered many different plant species, and was credited with saving the plant collection of the California Academy of Sciences in 1906, the time of the San Francisco Earthquake.
