One month ago, Ron was caught cheating on his wife. And then somebody broadcasted it. And published it. And republished it. And sent the news spinning viral across all the lands of Wizarding Britain. By the time the news had cooled down, there was nothing left of Hermione but a sniffling, red nose; dried out eyes and a hollow space in her chest, devoid of a heart.

Draco Malfoy is the name that tastes bitter on Hermione's tongue. I mean, it has for a long, long time. Why would that change now? Curious as it is, the week "The Incident" drops bombs into Hermione's life is the same week Draco starts working in the office directly across from her. In a moment of pure bliss - and drunkenness - they share a kiss that changes Draco's life forever.
