22 year old Morgan Carters, is a newly hired police officer, struggling to adjust to her new life in 'Burgandeë' a bright coastal town. It doesn't take her long to realise that all is not what she seems and the townspeople have a secret to hide. Reports of mangled heads being spotted all around the town have raised concern and anguish, finding the killer is proving to be harder than expected. Carters enlist the help of her childhood friend Jack Whittier a liberal arts graduate and now a professional photojournalist. The only recovered clue- a vintage machete found just weeks after the seventh attack in less than a month.

Its only a matter of moments until Morgan receives a death threat from an anonymous e-mail address, moments after a dear friend of Carters- Ms Lindsay Corrine is abducted then shortly after Mr Whittier is also reported missing without a trace.

No witnesses, multiple victims, numerous suspects, grieving families, only one clue.

"....With one swift movement, a small machete has been pierced into my thigh, my groans of torment echo around; the pain pulsates through my body like a bullet train; my eyelids are beginning to drop like window shutters, slowly clouding up my vision. All I could see was a tall dark figure standing over me and the malicious laughter that shortly filled the room.
I howl in agony, over and over again. This time it was my heart, I could feel the blade inside me as it bypasses my rib cage and strikes me at the heart. The ache surges into my lungs then quickly diffuses; I'm rapidly losing air.
I ball up my fist and cry in frustration and regret.
