It wasn't surprising that after the revolution there was still tension between Androids and humans. It was to be expected that some people still were unwilling to accept Androids as a new life form. The two sides still felt some resentment toward each other, though things were beginning to calm down.
Gavin Reed, the top detective of the Detroit Police Department was assigned a new case, but he didn't expect that he would be getting a new partner.

Most of the old models got destroyed and replaced with newer models in hope, that the disaster wouldn't happen ever again. They created the new RK-model with the so-called "Dog Syndrome", which is a reference to the phrase: Like owner, like dog. It's supposed to make the android work harmoniously with their owner. Gavin Reed hated androids before and even more after the revolution. If he gets the chance, he would shoot every single of them, because they are just machines causing trouble. All of a sudden, Fowler got him a new partner for solving the case: people seem to disappear without any hind. Are the androids behind it? Is the tragedy from last year going to happen again?
