After the fall of the previous monarch, Empress Hikari is trying to usher in an era of complete obedience and faith in the gods and herself.

And so when a secret organization creates a "magical girl" group called Dark Girls to fight the monsters that the Empress said were sent by the gods, the iron fisted monarch decides to send all of them to destroy the Dark Girl's Union.

And even though they were gifted magical powers, there was always the chance of being hunted down and murdered.
