"What the hell is wrong with you? Are you really going to put your own mate in prison?"

I wrapped my hands around the cold steel bars that separated us only slightly. Even in the dimly lit, musty jail I watched Azrael's stoic face upturn into a smug, sadistic smile.

"You seem to forget, mate." His words riddled with venom,

"Without me you are nothing."

I gripped the bars painfully harder as I was unable to anything else, my knuckles turning white. I shook my head defiantly even as hot tears silently rolled down my cheeks.

"I own you."

Azrael leaned closer and reached his arm between the bars, grabbing ahold of my face before I could pull away. He tilted his head as he used his thumb to stroke my tear stained cheek.

"There isn't a breath you breathe that doesn't belong to me and no amount of your little magic will ever change that."

The Moon Goddess played a cruel joke when She paired Azrael and Mercy as mates. The Alpha of Death and a girl with magical healing abilities were doomed before they even met. The two were the exact foil of the other, they were magnets constantly repelling away from one another.

Then why was it, no matter what the Mercy or Azrael did...They couldn't stay away.

This gets the guys attention and I notice the aura around him, telling me he's an Alpha. He starts stalking towards me as Gabriel struggled to get up, " Run Reagan! #1 werewolf #1 teenfiction "That night meant nothing to me Olivia." "You were just like another girl to me." He smirked, "and you KNOW how I do girls. I lure them," he took a crumpled paper in his hands and softly straightened it, "I fuck them. HARD." He tore the paper off in pieces, "and then, I throw them out of my life," he concluded, crushing the paper into a ball and throwing it with a perfect shot in the bin. I looked up at him in shock, anger and heartbreak. "You actually thought I got jealous!" He scoffed. Out of nowhere he threw me against the wall and I gasped as his arm pressed by my sides and he trapped me. "ALSO, DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME YOUR MATE AGAIN!" he growled, I breathed heavily as fear started crawling in. Tears flowed down my face. I struggled to breathe. "I NEVER wanted a mate. Especially not like you." He gave me a glare as if the mere sight of me disgusted him. "Who would want a mate like you anyways, huh? You're ugly, nerdy, clingy, way-too-innocent and being with you will DESTROY my social reputation." Listening to those words shattered my Wolf and she howled in pain. I gasped, trying to get some air but he pressed me against the wall harder. "Look at you," he chuckled, "So pathetic. You're not even able to defend yourself. Moon goddess made a mistake mating you with me. I will correct it ." "I won't reject you," he said, "oh no no. Rejection is easy. I will TORTURE you. I will sleep with other girls, I will flirt with them in front of your eyes and I will watch you and your wolf die everyday. I will break you to the limit where you won't ever be able to come back. And then, I will leave you to rot." "One last thing. Don't you DARE tell anyone that we are mates. Are we clear?" I nodded frantically, my heart clenching till where it was unbearable. He let out a dark chuckle and released me,"Good girl." I collapsed on the floor and almost passed out from the lack of air in my lungs. He just walked away & left me there to rot.

**COMPLETED** "You have a weird look on your face," I said and his frown deepened. "I do not," he closed his spell book and ran a hand through his shaggy hair. "Hmm," I hummed under my breath as I smoothed the crease between his brow. He grabbed my wrist, his hand warm and firm, and pulled it down. "Personal space." "Sorry," I said with a small smile. Much progress had been made. "Werewolves," he huffed, letting go of my wrist and snapping open his book. "Warlocks," I hissed, snatching the book from his hands. ******************************************* Kyda and Ibhan were opposing forces from the moment they met. But Kydas belief in mates keeps her tethered to the brooding warlock who had been happily living a life of isolation before he met her. Well, maybe not happily per se, but quietly and contently. But soon, a conspiracy within the pack, and some magic that just doesn't add up, finally begins to widen the chasm between the two of them. A chasm they had just begun to build a bridge over. Will the rule of opposite attraction win, or will the nature of their relationship burn out just as it should?
