In a surreal coming-of-age story, Elliot must deal with visions of an apocalyptic future in the wake of her best friend leaving town. Eliot and her best friend, Steven, are teenage survivors of the end of the world. Eliot's dad is a world-renowned survivalist, and he taught her all the rules. After weeks of waiting for Eliot's missing mother to come home, Eliot and Steven are ready to head to the mountains to reunite with her dad. Before their escape, they run into a stranded prince who needs their help. Eliot wants to follow the rules her dad taught her - find a hiding spot, avoid crowds, help only yourself - but she is torn. The prince is in danger, and there is a reward for his capture. Should Eliot run away to safety or save the prince?
