After a near-death experience, Jon Paddock decides to stop whiling his life away.  Usually, you hear about people who jump on planes and fly to Spain, or people who quit their jobs and hunt down the a long-lost love.  
But Jon can't afford a plane ticket, and he doesn't have a forgotten romance.   So how can you change your life  when it seems that there isn't much to change in the first place?

Somehow, some way, Jon makes it so that his life is never the same again.  

He does quit his job, for one thing.
