Laila Marshall has never known a normal life. Aside from her parents' habitual squabbles and quarrels, and the constant torture of being an only child, she was always the new girl at the beginning of the school year.

She has moved across states and changed schools more than Kim Kardashian has changed handbags.

But everywhere she goes this curse follows her like a shadow. And unlike King Midas' Touch, everything she touches turns to ash.

One. Two. Three deaths.

She is plagued with the ability to see these deaths in dreams before they occur and hear tiny whispers every time. She's had this "superpower"-as weird Rachel called it-for as long as she can remember.

When the first two happened, she blamed Karma and coincidence for conspiring against her and maybe protecting her.

One year in solitary confinement and the dreams were no longer frequent. The deaths stopped, but the whispers didn't.

Now three years after enjoying a pseudo-normal life, the dreams came back. Angrier each time, but not only that. She finally discovered the truth behind her curse.

*****************************************

After a series of deaths shake the foundations of a small county in Berkshire, Kayla Marshall, the coroner, and her daughter, Laila are swept back into buried cases filled with loopholes and inconclusive evidence. Cases where nothing makes sense, at least logically.

Another tragedy. Bodies dropping. Their past has risen from the grave and is back for its pound of flesh.

Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant. None of it makes sense - vampires and werewolves are supposed to be mortal enemies, so why does Kieran find Mason so irresistible? He knows that each kiss is dangerous, each bite is unpredictable...
