"It's a jungle out there." If by "out there" you mean "high school", then the age old saying rings true for seven teenage girls trying to survive the last two years of their high school career. Unfortunately for them (and just about the rest of the human population), the species homo sapien lacks the proper instincts to survive a jungle-like environment with ease as certain animals are naturally accustomed to. Some might even say the claws of a jaguar are far easier to escape than the clutches of a mean girl with PMS. And why can't teenage boys just express their interest the way peacocks and umbrella birds do? With the mind of a mad scientist and just about the greatest risk ever taken since exploring outer space, a new form of human is created. A better kind of human the world has ever seen. Or so it seems at first.

[Book #1 of Twisted Deception] "You people don't know a damn thing about us, don't even speak." **** Everyone knows that high school is always something to dread. GPA, friends, enemies, prom, graduation, everything that you think would make high school good and bad for the future. Now scratch off friends, GPA, prom, and graduation. Why would you scratch them off? Because everything else will be the only thing that's important when you get to this high school. Saint Johnathan Pier is the one high school in the city where everything happens and normally, stuff you wish you didn't see. Everyone warned people about the dangers of the students going there but did they ever mention the people already broken by it? They were dubbed "the rainbow colors of society" just because they were different from other students in this school. But there's a slight differential between them: four of these students are popular while the other four are normal. While the four populars are seen as "superior, hot, and intimidating", the four normals are seen as "weirdos, weaklings, and irreverent bystanders". Being different from the other kids has always been a struggle for all of them since grade school, but they try to keep that out of mind. But with their dark history following them at every corner, making new friends can't be on their list. Matter of fact, it isn't an option. Especially when their attitudes are what drive people away rather than in. Not like they're complaining though. When these eight students get paired up for an end of the year assignment, they encounter a lot of drama that will test their relationships to the max. What will happen to them? Can they grow comfortable with each other? Can these troubled teens even be friends in the first place? Come along on the journey as these eight try to survive their last year of high school. ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️: This contains strong language, mentions of rape, bullying, etc.

Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. And then one night while heading to go get her friend she's taken and thrown into a world she didn't know existed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Remi?" Jen says suddenly. "Hmm?" I hum back. "Do you ever wish you could just live in the forest? Away from everyone and everything?" She looks at me. "Free." We stare at each other for a long time. I see the real meaning in Jen's eyes. Her worries for going home to her overly strict parents. Her fears for the future and the unknown in general. "If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny. "I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?" "Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.

Hazel and Ivy are inseparable-best friends in a small town where any deviation from the norm is critically viewed. Their friendship has seen them through the ups and downs of adolescence, but when deep connection unexpectedly turns into tender feelings, their worlds are thrown into turmoil. Hazel is unsure of her feelings-friendship or love? Ivy knows what she wants, but fear of the unknown and the reactions of her conservative surroundings hold her back. Amidst family tensions and societal expectations, the two struggle to understand what they truly feel for each other. But how does one deal with feelings that could destroy everything that has mattered to them so far? How can they find their way when the love that draws them together is simultaneously seen as the greatest crime? ----- Excerpt: "Are you sure we're ready for this, I mean, that between us, you and me?" she asked softly as my gaze swept over the shimmering surface of the river. "What if someone finds out?" I gently placed my hand on her arm. "Sometimes you have to take a risk to find out what really matters," I said, my voice a whisper in the evening breeze. "I know it's complicated, but I can't ignore these feelings any longer. I want you to know how I feel-not just as a friend, but as something more." I felt my heart race. I could barely grasp the pain and joy in Hazel's eyes. The moment was so intense it felt as if it could stop time. ----- Trigger Warnings: Forbidden Love Family Conflicts Emotional Strain Loss of a Loved One Suicide Societal Pressure and Stigmatization Homophobia ----- English isn't my first language, therefore, there may be some spelling and grammatical mistakes

A young girl is brutally abducted by a bloodthirsty grizzly, forcing a group of scientists to mop up a genetic engineering operation that is out of control, threatening any and all who enter the woods. One question remains: are the animals really dangerous for no reason at all or does their enhanced intelligence simply make them recognize something damning about human nature that needs to be understood before it's too late? Harmonious coexistence with an emerging highly-intelligent species competing for dominance over the earth or total destruction of humans and animals alike? Those are the two options now. Two groups of scientific researchers are sent to a forest where bear attacks are frequent in order to study what is happening only to find themselves attacked and outsmarted (in part) by the animals themselves. Two environmental action groups also find themselves at odds over the fate of the dangerously genetically-enhanced creatures. One group wants to see the beasts wiped out completely and the other wants to preserve them at all costs, even at the expense of human life. The two sides are locked in an impasse, unable to resolve their differences in an amiable way which leads to ever-increasing tension, animosity, kidnapping and murder. Entire forests are quarantined in an attempt to control and contain the beasts but soon holes are discovered in the operation as key players start disappearing in addition to animals eluding their hunters, fighting back and changing the field of battle to their own terms. Ambushing their pursuers on more than one occasion. As the "pro-beast" and "pro-human" sides chase to their own interests with the unfortunate bears caught in the middle (struggling to establish themselves in a human dominated world), the animals learn more and more to rely on their expanding awareness to survive and thrive in an entirely new world...to evolution shattering effect!

"I love how this book is turning out!😍 Not cliche at all!" - i_hatecliche "We might live next door to each other," Haley said, "but we don't live in the same world." Hooking her fingers around her backpack straps, she walked away from Jace. She had barely gone a few steps before he was at her side again. "What makes you believe we don't live in the same world?" he asked. "As far as I can tell, we do." "No, we don't. I'm...me and you're Jace Cortez. The dream of every girl. The friend to every guy. The star of the school. Girls. Sports. You're the ultimate player." "It sounds like you have a preconceived notion of who I am." "And it's one that has yet to be proven wrong." From books and a lifetime of sitting on the sidelines, Haley is convinced she knows how the world works, specifically high school. Everyone has a label and a box they fit in. This knowledge, paired with parents who are fighting, a brother leaving soon for college and a best friend who moved away has made her decide to never get involved. It will take being forced to work with her fellow juniors on a project, a boy next door with a infectious smile, a star gazer with an adorable puppy, and an unlikely pair of fangirls to make her see how truly wrong she was about everything. "IT'S NOT CLICHÉ!!!" - Moria987 "This is the reason y I keep coming back to this book...It's simply a breathtaking journey" - mariyamsajorawala "I don't usually comment but this is one of the best books I've read here. I love the fact that it's realistic and focuses on things that really hinder human interaction, perceptions and stereotypes." - yurfavegal "just gets better and better. "If I could pick anyone in the entire world, in the entire world, Will, I'd still choose you." *** William Nile has always felt a lack of control in his life. His head's clustered and the past likes to eat at his thoughts. Isolation is a synonym for safety and staying neutral is a key ingredient for survival. He's always felt more put together when he was a mess; always felt like the world was clearer in the dark. He can't help it, this is just how it's always been. Then comes along a new foster family who throws him for a loop. They're exactly who they say they are, exactly who they act to be. With that comes a goofy boy named Clement and his best friends, annoying twins who laugh loudly- -good luck telling Jude and Demi apart- -and a girl named Minnie who has a god complex. Will knew from the day he arrived that he needs to focus on acting the way his foster moms want, on getting good grades, at playing soccer well and making sure that for once, he doesn't mess up. He knows he doesn't want to lose these friends, knows he wants to feel wanted and needed and understood. Because here, there is more focus on his mental health than there is on if he's acting the 'right' way. Here, there is room for growth and change past a foster parent's ideal child. Here, there's no room for entertaining the idea of him with a pretty boy who has a witty smile and a loud laugh. On that last note, he has no idea what to do (and Will is someone who likes to plan ahead). *** A coming of age story.
