Mireille D'Argent, reborn into a world of swords and magic, never fit in very well. She was overly mature, and a little bit strange with her knowledge from another world. But... In the span of a day, she seemingly lost everything and gained everything at the same time.

Money, a mansion, and a useless title... Gained.
Parents, a home, and her naivety... Lost.

After the death of her parents, she and her brother Alfred are brought to live with their uncle. Mireille finally realizes the truth of her life. She knew her parents were fallen nobles, yet thought nothing of it. Never would she have thought she was practically royalty. However she didn't desire any of the things she gained. Just her peaceful life as a commoner. She forms her resolve to slowly find a way to survive and escape, however, it isn't so easy to escape the eyes of high society.

In the realm of Quomared, which occupies the biggest part of the continent, magic is a scarce and precious resource. Fewer and fewer humans are born magic bearers throughout the last decades. Zaretha is the only daughter of the Alsayid, religios leader and grand mage of the country, the most powerful still-living sorcerer on the continent in service of the emperor. She is, however, born empty, magicless, to everyone's disappointment. An attempt at a coup d'etate takes place after her twelfth birthday, and her father is assassinated under mysterious circumstances. An orphan now, she is brought to live in The Priory of the White Stones, a home for girls from families that have or had magic-bearing members. They are schooled to be concubines or wives that a noble family can acquire for their heir, because even if magic-less, they still carry the gene and have a fifty percent chance to bear a magic-yielding child. __________________ Mentions: Please don't copy and all that. It makes no sense, just write your own story :). My stories are for mature audience. There will be violence, gore, explicit sex and other stuff not meant for kids. Proceed at your own risk. I will point out the more intense ones but questionable stuff might be all over so if you are sensitive DO NOT read. English is not my first language, feel free to point out the spelling errors, I always appreciate that. I am generally always really happy about Feedback. :)

The Atonement of a Writer

41 parts Complete

Lilianne Marineau, aka Lili, a struggling writer like you and me, wakes up to find herself in the body of Arielle Dumont, the female protagonist in her own, half-written novel. What would happen next? She sure as hell doesn't know. At first, all Lili wants to do is survive, and is overcome with the feeling that she had been bound by chains of her own making. Soon enough, though, she realizes she had been atoning for the wrong thing--and maybe, just maybe it was not her fault. A story of a writer who has to live as a character in a world she hasn't quite fully developed yet. A terrible writer with terrible concepts of magic in a fantasy world--and yes, there are glitches. TW: anxiety/depression/existential crisis esp in the earlier chapters, but quite mild, nothing we all haven't experienced before (I think anyone would reasonably panic in MC's situation). Still overall fairly lighthearted
