As Yaz has a near death experience, the Doctor starts to feel vulnerable and realises she can't protect her friends as much as she hoped to be able to. The loss of control sends her back to the TARDIS alone to figure out if she should continue to pick up companions when all that seems to happen is them dying, or getting injured, or getting lost to time and space. She feels completely alone.

When Jack has to come to terms with the truth about the last years, especially about his new companion, the doctor also starts to have doubts about the real reason for their reunion. -Disclaimer- I apologize if there is a spelling mistake somewhere.
