This short story is for the contest 'Planet or Plastic'.

It's 2054.

The world is no longer as you knew it.
You were all too focused on developing nations, creating robots and new world records.
Maybe, you missed out on something important? Something greater than robots and nations?

You ignored the shouts and cries of the Earth as it drowned you into its huge waves. It cracked and shivered, but you ignored it.
Now you shall pay the price.

(Entry for @sciencefiction contest) It has been 20,500 years since we left. It was coming. So we prepared. The space cruiser departed Earth in search of a new hope, a new planet. Of course we failed. Countless worlds were surveyed, but not one could hold human life. So, now we are back. We are home. But this is not the planet we left.
