Have you ever wondered who took all those rare candid photos of the King that you only come across every once in a while? Do you ever wonder, in a world of people out for his fame and wealth, who Elvis would let close enough to take such intimate photographs? Did you ever consider that it was someone close to him, no one professional, who took them? Annabel Jenkins - she'd prefer if you call her Annie - was only 14 years old when she moved to Memphis, Tennessee. The move was a result of her father's new job, for which he brought Annie and her mother along with him. Upon starting at the local high school, Humes High, Annie found herself as an outcast. As she was no one particularly special, not gifted in an outright glance, people just ignored her. There was the odd comment, maybe something to do with her auburn hair or her older looking, fuller figure, but they were just jealous girls or disrespectful boys. She had it nowhere near as bad as the school's resident punch bag, a kid called Elvis Presley. Annie recognised him; they lived two houses apart. And because of their common ground as outcasts, they quickly became friends. And so started a friendship that would last until Elvis' last breath. Our beloved Elvis Presley meets a pretty blonde girl over in Germany named Rachel, or "Rainie" Mott, right before he leaves to go home. He is thrown right into his career, and in the blink of an eye, he is in LA, starting on his next film G.I. Blues. While there on the set, he spots a familiar face--the girl who he met in Germany! Once the Colonel sees this young woman, he's shocked, and Elvis is even more so when she calls the Colonel "Dad." Elvis had no idea the Colonel had a daughter, and a rather beautiful one at that. And... he falls hard. But she wants nothing to do with him, at least on a romantic basis. So why is she staying close to him? Rainie only wanted to get a glimpse of him while she was in Europe for school, to see the guy her father picked up at a carnival and wanted to make big, but only so he could make big money. Well, time to go back to the states. She knows how controlling and money-hungry her father is, and she knows of his gambling addiction, so she worries for Elvis. If her father treats him anything like he treated her growing up, pushing and pushing and doing anything, even fraud, to make a buck, Elvis is in trouble. Also... Rainie holds a secret, a secret that her father and mother made her swear not to tell a soul, mainly since it could land her father in prison. Note: Colonel Parker didn't have any children as far as I know. This was just a fun idea.
