One Shade of Love

Reaching for another round of bullets, he cursed under his breath. Right now was the worst time for his gun to run out of rounds, especially when he had five men positioned 100m in front of him, ready to kill on sight. This was not how Devon had imagined his Saturday night to go. He put the silencer on his gun and took aim, the men were targeting his teammate and were unaware of him coming up from in front. Taking a deep breath, he came out from behind the tree, aimed and shot.

In less than 3 minutes, all five men were down and no passerby had noticed the bullets whizzing by around them. 'How could they?' he thought to himself, 'they were secret agents, the best in all of Italy and the only people walking the street this late were usually drunk and staggering home. The street lamps flickered, giving the street an eery look. A snap of a twig alerted him spinning he came nearly face to face with two more men of the mafia. They had their guns trained on him, 'shooting from behind,' he rolled his eyes, 'how cowardly of them'. He kept his snide comments to himself however, this was not the time for talk. This was the mafia, it was either eat or be eaten, no rules, no code of honor and certainly no room for mercy.

A single car ride changed everything. From tattoos and red hair to formal wear and carnival rides. This is the story of how a chance car ride changed the life of the agent they called Devil on the streets and his sweetheart.
