A company known as the Shinra Electric Power Company, (SEC) runs the entire planet using an energy source known as "mako" which is the lifeblood of the Planet. An eco-terrorist group known as AVALANCHE, (or Avalanche,) stationed in a city called "Midgar" believe that Shinra is killing off the Planet with their reactors that harvest said "mako." The leader of this eco-terrorist group is named "Barret" and has decided that the only way to stop Shinra is through force. Their target? Reactor No.1 stationed in Sector 8 of Midgar. Their mission? To blow up Reactor No.1 and show the Planet that AVALANCHE means business. They won't fail. "How?" you make ask. One word: SOLDIER. This time, AVALANCHE is packing the heat with a mercenary named Cloud Strife. Who is this mysterious merc? The ultimate badass. He's not a SOLDIER anymore; he's now an Ex-SOLDIER. Not much is known about him other than he's as quiet as he is strong.
