After losing her father and her baby, Katara falls into a deep depression. She finds herself standing on the beach, wishing nothing more than to give up and let the water consume her, leaving the world forever. As she walks into the water, a glowing figure arose from the waves, offering her a deal. If she chooses to go through with taking her life, she must stay in the mortal world for one week in a spirit-like state, watching as her friends, family, and the world mourn the loss of the greatest water bender to ever live. Only then can she make the choice, to return to the mortal world and resume her life as if the week never happened, or remain dead as the rest of the world goes on without her.
