Abuse. It's all she knew. It's every day. She never knew what would happen next-what would be screamed at her, where the next bruises would form or if she'd have enough concealer to hide them. Her only solace was a song she heard, and her favorite books.
She would get lost in those worlds, the ones with magic and mystery and mighty creatures where the good guys always win and the girl is always rescued. Where the ending is always happy.
She wished she could live there. Anywhere but here.

This is my first story, and I'm writing this mostly for fun, so don't get mad if it's not on par with all these gods of writing. Meet Angel, a girl just trying to get by in this living torture she calls a life. Being abused by her father, and living life in constant fear, she does her best to get by. What happenes when she tries to get away from all the hardship, but only ends up finding more? And maybe even finding someone that can save her from her own misserable life. Note from future self: This story is extremely cringy and only gets worse as it goes on.
