"Did you know a love like our was once punishable by death, our people were hunted down and slaughtered where ever there was a trace of us. family's denied ever having a child to avoid that pure embarrassment of being associated with our kind. so we learned to be silent hiding in the darkest corners at the darkest hours of night, huddled up together hiding from the prying eyes of those who would do us harm, pulling those on the edge as close as we could, shoving the youngest as far back as they would go if only to preserver their happiness for another day." Evan and Charles know they are extremely lucky. they have a loving mother/surrogate mother and surrogate brother who love them as they are, as well as staff and friends who will never betray them. but they know not everyone is like that. if anyone else where to find out they'd be killed without hesitation or wrose they be sent away to be corrected. to sum it up being gay in the 1900 sucks. *note this is a work in progess some things might change as i edit it and add more stuff to it* *swearing, homophobic and racist language*

New school. New home. New Life. New bullies. Daniel didn't ask for any of it. Yet here he is. Life still sucks. And he's had just about enough of it. However, the biggest challenge is yet to come. Afterall, has his shadow been moving on its own? Or is it just his imagination. Follow the story of 14-year-old Daniel as he learns how to get through life. How to grow up. And how to love in multiple ways. Opening his heart and mind to the world and people around him. Rated mature for: Swearing Mature concepts Violence This book is dedicated to everyone who inspired me, encouraged me and stuck by me while I debated giving up on the concept for this book altogether. You all know who you are... I wanted to tell a story that breaks the norm to some aspect. Where the main character is a boy, not a girl. Where he is not perfect. And where he is even a - not bad - but does bad things sometimes. It's a story of coming into yourself and forging your own path. Despite how hard that path can be to walk. Choices you face, how you'll react to them. What to do when you've done something bad and how you can fix it. If you should fix it. Each choice you make - weather you realize it or not - forges the person you are. For every door you close another one is waiting to be opened. This is not a perfect story, but it's one I want to tell. One that comes from a personal place in my heart and one that is born in reality and bathed in fantasy. This story will deal with aspects of both worlds. And sometimes touch on heavier topics. Be prepared, to read about a character who is the farthest thing from perfect. But he doesn't need to be. He just needs to be himself. Oh, how hard that truly is.
