This is a very personal poem which is depicting a harsh but true truth of my life. The black lady in the poem is the 'not best version of me' which was giving me nightmares about hating myself but then one day my inner 'true self' FINALLY woke up and now I am again 'me'.

A 7-year poetic memoir about grappling with Trauma, Mental health, and Crisis of Faith This is a collection of 7 years of poetry I have written about my journey with grief, trauma, abuse, SA, mental health, spiritual crisis, and my journey with God throughout my life. These are my life stories and I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into these poems. I hope my story will help others on their healing and/ or faith journeys. Healing is not linear.
