Bron is a young man with a taste for adventure. He yearns to travel, to see magick and to see the world and at 23 years of age, hasn't figured out what he wants to do with his life. He spends most of his time lazing about, visiting inns and drinking mead and ale while dreaming about adventures. He also visits the library where he reads about brave warriors and swashbuckling heroes.

His mother and father grow tired of his willful laziness and lack of interest in working or anything other than fairytales. They begin to punish him with trivial acts in a desperate attempt to force him to go out and find work, which doesn't work.

When Bron is told to go and help his father on the farm, he goes to the inn instead to spend the last of his money on alcohol. A fire breaks out, caused by some unruly dwarves and Bron finds himself on a journey with the most unlikely of companions; a half-ogre named Bull-head Bill and a group of travelling elven bards.

Kilan is on the run. From men he knows all too well in a forest he does not know well enough. And running into that tree didn't help. But when he wakes up, the forests are the least of his concerns. Kilan finds he has stumbled upon a castle, hidden deep in the woods, filled with servants and young masters who feel like they might just be more then they seem. And there are the thorns. Thousands upon thousands of thorns that cover the grounds and yet only cover one tower - why? And what about the dreams? The girl in the rose room? She seems so real, almost familiar, and yet he can only see her when he sleeps within the castle walls. She isn't there and he has not the time for a Sleeping Beauty. He has other things to contend himself with, in reality - in the waking world. His most prized possession is gone. A story book that means the world to him is lost within the forests - or worse, someone has their hands on it. Above all, it must be found, he has no time for a girl in dreams and the curse placed upon her - he writes fairy tales, he does not live them. He must find the book and be away from the strange Rose Castle. But someone has already noted his presence and has taken an interest in him. An interest one would not wish for. ~~~~~~ (Please Note: These books link but it is NOT ESSENTIAL that you read them in order - they stand alone as well as link together) The Rose Quartet Reading Order: Beauty and The Beast: http://w.tt/1wczujq Sleeping Beauty The Frog Prince: http://w.tt/1KphNHL Little Red Riding Hood: http://w.tt/1PBaNbs ~~~~ Cover picture by: Selene Regener Check them out: http://selenada.deviantart.com/

**Featured on DARK FANTASY and ADULT FICTION reading lists** WARNING: EATING OR DRINKING WHILE READING THIS STORY IS HIGHLY INADVISABLE. Once Upon A Time, Good Omens, Monty Python, and Arrested Development had a back-alley three-way and birthed a fairytale. Gerald wasn't supposed to be stuck living seven centuries in the future. He definitely wasn't supposed to be "mentoring" The Dark Lord's progeny in the hopes that she would decide to save the world rather than destroy it. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to be named Gerald (the name of every other male in his family for three hundred years), because everyone assumed a weak-chinned, balding, forgettable man, who was just a magician, could never be who Geraldo The Foreshadower prophesied. But that's what assuming gets you, and here he was saddled with a fate he never asked for, in a time he didn't know, surrounded by people he didn't want to like, and he was out of Firewine AGAIN! The Dark Heir is a darkly satirical tale of assumptions, anti-heroes, and apocalypses, where the road to hell is actually a themed water-park slide covered in slightly less urine than a real one. It drops literary and film references faster than an NYC socialite drops names, and promises endless laughs - including, but not limited to, sad chuckles, guffaws, uncontrollable giggles at inappropriate moments, brays, barks, cackles, snorts, cachinnations, and the occasional howl (though that may be the Welsh Werewolves showing up unannounced). Consider yourself warned... Reviews: "Completely and adorably bonkers," says @floranocturna "Hilarious in every way. Even when I cringed, I laughed," says @LadySapphire2018 Winner of The Trident Awards
