The story takes place in a medieval setting, so themes such as sexism, execution, arranged marriages, implied incest and war can be found. Characters go through phases with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. There are vague recounts of voluntary intercourse but implied rape as well. One consensual scene is written out but there will be a warning. "Diary of the Dead" is part of a three part series. This is the first book. I'm currently working on the second/ third (depending on the order one wants to read it). The chapters are comparably short and the language is easy because I'm German and English is my second language.
