Damian Gillan, a 17 year old American living in China has become an infamous vigilante in the city of Shanghai. But he wasn't always like this. Years prior, Damian discovered the legendary city of Shēngxiào, the forbidden city of the Zodiac Clan, a large secretive clan, who worship the beasts of the Chinese Zodiac, who take the forms of twelve maidens. For reasons unknown, Damian is allowed entry into the clan, an extremely rare occurrence, and permitted to become one of them, and train amongst them as one of their warriors. All seems to go well as Damian proves himself worthy to the Clan. However, an ancient evil is unleashed, destroying both the Clan, and Shēngxiào. Damian must put aside his hatred and personal grudges of the criminal underworld, in order to stop the great evil before he cast everything into eternal night, with the power of the evil creatures known as the Yaoguai.
